You enter the front courtyard between two frog ponds and a tiny lawn–the only grass in this garden which perches above a stream in the woods. Terraced patios preserve the view of the water and the forest. Stonework becomes more informal as you leave the house. You can see a collection of birdhouses from the kitchen and family room, but mostly you’re just in the woods–except the stone pig who keeps watch over the exercise room from outside.
