Our proposed addition to Shallcross Hall creates a new entry/ gathering space/ focal point for the campus and for the building as you enter the campus from City Avenue. It engages the surrounding buildings and expresses Quaker values by engaging with the landscape to create community and reinforce community values. The building goes beyond engaging its environment and community; it becomes an active participant– creating energy, capturing rainwater, and creating opportunities for student interaction with one another .
